George investigates the macroscopic organization of the human brain, and the computational mechanisms underlying alterations in subjective experience. To this end he studies pharmacological, physiological and pathological perturbations of brain dynamics, using tools from information theory and complexity science. His work aims to advance theory-driven markers of consciousness, as well as data-driven approaches that guide new theory.
